The upcoming COP30 in Belém, a city nestled within the Amazon—the world’s most biodiverse biome—can become a pivotal moment for transforming global food systems. The COP30 Food Initiative, a coalition of non-profit civil society organizations, seeks to change this by ensuring that at least 50% of the food procured for the event comes from local agroecological producers.
