13:45 to
14:45

This panel explores how Net Zero Industrial Precincts can serve as engines of industrial decarbonisation and sustainable supply chains– linking green trade and investment with a place- based approach. NZIPs cluster industries around shared clean energy, enabling infrastructure, and collaborative governance, creating conditions for rapid technology transfer, risk-sharing and investment.

This panel will bring together leading voices including the Mission Possible Partnership, UNIDO Global Matchmaking Platform for Industry Decarbonisation (to be confirmed), the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) (to be confirmed), the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Climateworks Centre.

The objective of the panel is to showcase NZIP initiatives through case studies from Australia, Indonesia and Vietnam. The panel session will focus on:

  • What success looks like: What enabling mechanisms—finance, governance, technology transfer and capacity-building—are required for place-based industrial decarbonisation initiatives to succeed?
  • Global North-South collaboration: How can Net Zero Industrial Precincts strengthen industrial competitiveness and build resilient supply chains in tandem?
  • Lessons and insights from our work: What lessons can be drawn from the existing/emerging place-based industrial decarbonisation initiatives?
  1. Prof Leong Yuen Yoong (Sunway University, Sustainable Development Solutions Network)
  2. James Schofield (Mission Possible Partnership, Managing Director of the Industrial Transition Accelerator)
  3. Dr Ceren Ayas (Climateworks Centre, Acting Southeast Asia Lead)
