Forests, land use and food systems are essential to climate action, biodiversity, livelihoods and economies. As the first climate COP held in the Amazon, COP30 in Belém brought these issues closer to the centre of the Paris Agreement implementation, including through the Presidency’s Roadmap on Enhancing Efforts to Halt and Reverse Deforestation and Forest Degradation by 2030.

Bringing together governments and organizations working across these agendas, this panel will explore how to turn the momentum from COP30 into action at COP31 and sustain it through COP32 in Ethiopia. Speakers will discuss priorities for implementation, including finance, policy and cooperation, as well as the role of agricultural supply chains and trade in protecting forests and supporting sustainable food systems.
