Climate impacts are intensifying across Bangladesh and Asia, disproportionately affecting coastal, char and other climate-vulnerable communities through cyclones, flooding, river erosion, salinity, displacement and increasingly uncertain livelihoods. Yet significant gaps remain between communities’ adaptation priorities and the finance, services, institutions and investments needed to address them at scale.

This panel will explore how climate-risk knowledge and lived experiences can be translated into locally led, inclusive and investable resilience solutions. Bringing together community voices, civil society, government, development partners, financial institutions and private-sector actors, the discussion will examine how women, youth and other marginalized groups can meaningfully shape adaptation priorities and decisions, while ensuring that resilience finance reaches the communities and systems most exposed to climate risks.

The dialogue will explore practical pathways linking community-led adaptation, resilient livelihoods, social protection, inclusive governance, climate-resilient services and accessible finance with appropriate financial instruments, risk-sharing mechanisms, data, standards and investment approaches. The objective is to identify how policies, institutions and financial systems can better connect climate risk, local priorities, credible resilience solutions appropriate finance and equitable outcomes, enabling vulnerable communities not merely to cope with climate shocks but to shape resilient and equitable futures.
