Communities living on the front lines of the climate crisis in fragile contexts are clear on how climate change is impacting their lives and futures, the solutions they are building and then support they most need to adapt. But climate policy isn’t taking their views into account. What frontline communities say they need most, and the support they are currently receiving to adapt to climate change, are miles apart.
This interactive panel will address how to close this gap. Panelists will present calls to action from people in Somalia, Chad, Afghanistan, Ethiopia and from communities on the move and then work with participants to understand how these can more meaningfully shape climate policy and finance.
This will take place in a workshop format, with brief presentations followed by group work to address the questions and challenges below. We will capture the key insights in a followup policy brief which we will use across the hosting organisations’ advocacy work.
