Across Asia, weak and climate-exposed grids are delaying renewable projects just as electricity demand grows.
New transmission is essential, but it cannot always arrive as quickly as wind, solar and new demand. Drawing on the Philippines, South Korea and Taiwan, this interactive session will examine two connected responses: financing stronger networks without imposing unfair costs on consumers, and using grid-enhancing technologies, flexible connections, modern grid codes and grid-forming inverters to unlock capacity sooner.
Speakers will also consider how extreme weather changes grid planning, stability requirements and accountability to affected communities.
A short scene-setter and case presentations will lead into a moderated, audience-driven discussion of practical reforms and investment priorities.
