Green industrial policy is increasingly situated at the intersection of climate ambition, development strategy, energy security, and geopolitical competition. This panel will bring together policymakers and researchers from emerging economies to discuss how countries can navigate a fragmenting global trade and innovation landscape when advancing to a green transition and decarbonization.

Panelists will delve into how emerging economies can balance through domestic learning or resilient supply chains and explore how trade rules, standards, and mechanisms such as CBAM can become tools for building productive capabilities in global south countries such as Mexico, Brazil and South Korea.

Panelists:

  • Adrián Fernández Bremauntz, General Director at ICM
  • Kelly Sims Gallagher, Dean and Professor of Energy and Environmental Policy at The Fletcher School, Tufts University
  • Victoria Santos, Energy and Industry Manager at iCS
  • To be defined from Tara
