Indigenous peoples’ involvement in climate negotiations and policy is critical. However, their involvement in the journalism that informs climate debates is often overlooked, with Indigenous People too often seen as the subjects of stories, rather than the tellers of those stories – the conveyers of information.
Dialogue Earth’s eight Indigenous Voices fellows seek to fill this gap. Reporting from across the Global South, they are providing their window on climate and biodiversity crises and solutions.
In this panel, a selection of the Dialogue Earth fellows will introduce their reporting and discuss the importance of Indigenous journalism for climate action, sustainable agricultural and cultural heritage. The discussion will be accompanied with photography and videos taken by the fellows during their recent reporting trips.
