Latin America’s climate goals depend strongly on transforming land-use and production systems, from agriculture and forestry to finance and energy. While global frameworks for target setting and disclosure are expanding rapidly, many do not yet fully capture the region’s realities. This event explores how Latin American companies and financial institutions can advance climate mitigation and adaptation within their own operations and value chains, strengthening accountability and mobilizing climate and nature finance toward sustainable production landscapes. The discussion will focus on how credible global standards can be locally grounded, linking corporate and financial action to decarbonization, biodiversity protection, and resilience to climate change, all the while ensuring a just transition. The panel will highlight opportunities to adapt global frameworks to regional contexts, build capacity for implementation, and foster collaboration among producers, companies, and financial institutions to achieve their climate targets. By sharing experiences from the Latin American region, the panel aims to share findings that can be replicated in other producer regions.
