At COP30 Mexico will submit its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) with an end date of 2035. This document reflects the structural transformation towards a greener and more sustainable development model that enables the achievement of the net-zero emissions commitment by midcentury. Beyond the mitigation, adaptation and loss and damage commitments, the presentation will highlight the inclusive and participatory process that shaped the design of the NDC, emphasizing the importance of sectoral engagement and ownership to ensure effective implementation.
In addition, the Government of Mexico will present its progress on the National Adaptation Policy (NAP). This policy aims to address medium and long-term adaptation needs by guiding the formulation of strategies and measures, while also strengthening institutional capacities and fostering an enabling environment for the effective implementation of adaptation actions.
The objective of this event is to foster an open and constructive dialogue with representatives from civil society, local governments, the private sector, and international cooperation agencies. The aim is to share key elements of Mexico’s climate policy framework and identify concrete pathways for collaboration. Special emphasis will be placed on unlocking investment opportunities in priority sectors, promoting inclusive climate action, and advancing climate justice through equitable partnerships.
The discussion will also address the main implementation challenges and explore innovative solutions to accelerate the transition toward a resilient, low-carbon future.
