This panel will bring together organizations leading climate mobilization processes in faith communities across Africa and Latin America, demonstrating how to engage religious groups in the fight against the climate crisis. The debate will highlight the strategic importance of these communities due to their capillarity and influence in vulnerable territories, where climate impacts are most severe. We will address how political and religious fundamentalism has mobilized climate denialism, compromising urgent mitigation and adaptation actions. Based on the biblical perspective of creation stewardship, the panel will present practical experiences of community mobilization, climate justice, and combating misinformation. The objective is to strengthen alliances between faith organizations, social movements, and science, promoting effective strategies to democratize reliable climate information and inspire concrete actions. We will demonstrate that caring for the planet is living the gospel, connecting spiritual responsibility with climate urgency, especially relevant for COP30 in Belém.
